Special Photo Tours
We offer special departures for photographers
who need more time to work with their equipment. Departures are at 6:00 in the
morning or at 19:45 in
the evening. We start back from the cape no later than 8:20 in the morning trip.
The price in 2009 is 3500 ISK per person and minimum 10 clients
(or 35.000 ISK if there are less than 10 clients).
In the Special Photo Tours we spend most of the time
photographing birds, and we skip the history part.

I took this picture with my Nokia N95 phone and my spotting scope on 24.June
2008. Normally the clients on this trip carry a little bit heavier gear than
that :-)
Please note, in all our trips
to Ingólfshöfði we are careful not to disturb the birds for too long time, and to make sure that
the birds can continue to feed their chicks we never spend long time in
one location. It is easy to forget the time when you are making beautiful
photographs, so we ask for good cooperation of every member of the group. The
rule we use is that all the photographers stay in view of the nature reserve
warden the whole time, and when we ask the group to move from one side of the
cape to the other, every one comes with us. In earlier part of the summer there
are over 130 pairs of great skuas and several pairs of great black-backed gulls nesting on the cape, and
they need to keep their eggs warm (or their small chicks) so it is not good to
stay to long in one place. Also we will normally see puffins carrying fish, and
obviously we don't want to keep them from feeding their chicks for too long. In
many cases the photographer is standing at the entrance of their burrows
preventing them to enter their hole.
